The programmable logic controller, or PLC, is an important part of most industrial machinery. This component acts as the "brain" of the control system, orcestrating the operation of the machine. This means that the machine is only as good as the PLC program that controls it.
For this reason, ASAP has it's own team of in-house programmers that can work along side of the mechanical and controls departments from start to finish during the design and build of the machine. If required, this allows for mechanical and electrical changes to be made during the build rather than having to create a program full of "work arounds".

AB SLC PLC

Our programmers are capable of programming a wide variety of PLC brands and models, allowing you to choose a particular combination of components that are familiar with your maintenance staff. All of our programs are clearly laid out, commented and documented, allowing for easy implementation of future changes, if required.

Our diverse history of machine building for a wide variety of industries has also given our programmers the know-how to access your existing PLC programs. Whether it be for troubleshooting, a simple change of a timer value, or a complete program re-write, our programmers have the knowledge, experience and tools to do the job.

HMI Programming

fill Human-Machine Interfaces fill

The human-machine interface, or HMI, provides a way for the operator to interact with and control the machine. Unlike simple buttons and switches that provide one-way control, an HMI allows for both control and feedback to and from the PLC.

Automation And Controls

At ASAP, we believe that HMI programs should be designed with the operator in mind, and also be visually appealing. A simple, well designed operator interface minimizes the need for extensive machine operator training.
The operator interface should also include online help, machine status displays, statistical data, manual controls, and troubleshooting areas. These areas should be logically grouped, and password protected if required.

Our programmers have the know-how, experience, software, and hardware required for all of your HMI programming needs.
Whether it be a simple one-line display or a full size touch screen, we can create a new operator interface for your machinery, or modify an existing one. Our experience includes, but is not limited to:
